A virtual papal audience ahead of Pope Francis trip to the USA - ABC

Pope Francis laid down his opening marker for his tour to the USA holding a surprise "virtual audience" with representatives of his beloved "peripheries" – migrants, the poor and homeless – in Los Angeles, Chicago and McAllen, Texas.

Arranged by ABC News in conjunction with the Holy See, the hour long session – its sites chosen by Francis himself, knowing he won't be able to visit them in person – will be broadcast in full on Friday night in the network's 20/20 slot.
