SacredSpace102fm is now on iTunes

So after a lot of thinking and talking about, SacredSpace102fm is now live on the iTunes Podcast Directory as of today.

We are listed under our recording brand - Come & See Inspirations - with the plan being that we will be posting podcasts which may be additional to what is broadcast of West Limerick102fm online as well.

So spread the good news! We are available to listen online at

Our New Podcast Home!

Podcast Update for our Listeners

Regular listeners and readers will have noticed that we have had some technical problems with our podcasts over the last few weeks but hopefully we have come to a resolution of the issue.

So for 2018 John and Shane decided to make their lives a little more complicated when it comes to podcasts :)

As regular listeners and readers will know, the SS102fm programme is recorded at the Come & See Inspirations studio in Ardagh in west Limerick and is then broadcast on West Limerick 102fm. Each week we have posted a link to the recording of that weeks programme and generally an excerpt from the programme for our listeners.

For 2018 those podcasts will now be available on SS102fm blog as usual but also on our new podcast homepage Come & See Inspirations which is hosted on the Buzzsprout podcasting platform. The podcast page will host our weekly radio programme podcasts as usual but also provides scope for Come & See Inspirations to publish other talks, reflections and audio recordings which we would like to share with our listeners which may not necessarily get broadcast on SacredSpace102fm.

The new page will also allow us to get listed in some podcast directories including iTune, Stitcher and Google Player for those of you looking to download and listen to the programmes.

We are still working through what it will mean for our archive of programmes and will let you know how that goes.

In the meantime thanks for listening!

Regards

The SS102fm Team

SacredSpace102fm Podcast Technical Difficulties

Hi folks
As some of you will have noticed over the last few months SS102fm has had a little technical challenge with our podcasts and in particular our podcast archive going back to 2010.

Up until this year we have used the Dropbox facilities to host our podcast which listeners have then been able to listen to which (a) we have discovered is a bit against the rules of Dropbox (mea cupla, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa) and (b) in addition Dropbox have changed the way that we can access the files.

As such in 2018 we are going to be moving to a new podcast host so you will see changes on the blog as to how you will be able to play the podcasts. Obviously it is going to take us a bit of time to convert our archive across so please bear with us.

If you want a particular programme from the archive, drop a line to John at sacredspace102@gmail.com and we will get in touch to see what we can do.

Thank you for listening and we hope that you will stay with us on this journey into the future.

Regards
SS102fm Team

SS102fm Podcasts Technical Issues

Regular readers and visitors to the blog will be aware that each week we post links to the podcasts of our weekly programmes which are also available on our archive pages.

To date the SS102fm team has been using the facility provided by Dropbox public folders but from 1st September 2017, this facility has been changed by Dropbox so all of the historic links are no longer valid.

As you can appreciate with almost 6 years of programmes online, the updating and amendment of these links on the blog is going to take us some time so we would appreciate your patience as we figure out what we are going to do.

However, the programmes from August 2017 forward should continue to be available for you to listen back to and we will keep you updated as we sort out the remainder of our archive on the programme.

Regards
SS102fm Team

Podcasts and Livestreaming

We are still wating for the Livestreaming to be put back online from the station but if you want to hear the show have a look at our podcasts on our podcast page.

We are gradually adding some older podcasts to our podcast page which are programmes we have done over the last couple of years which people have asked us to repeat from time to time. We will be adding to the list over the next while (subject to space restrictions of course!) but if there is any particular programme that you would like to hear again, let us know either in the comments at the bottom of the page or email to sacredspace102@gmail.com

3rd October 2010 - 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C

This weeks show begins Sacred Space 102fm's short series during the month of October focusing on the missions. The show has an interview with our own Shane Ambrose who speaks about his time volunteering in Uganda, our regular gospel reflection and a quick run though the saints for the week.

You can listen to this weeks programme HERE.

From Knockpatrick to Kiyinda - A VM's reflections on some time in Africa

Regular readers of the blog will have seen a series of recent posts in the last week from our regular panelist Shane Ambrose where he has written and reflected about his time in Uganda with a particular focus on presence, suffering, solidarity and friendship. Shane was a volunteer for 30 months in Uganda with the Volunteer Missionary Movement and speaks on this weeks show under a gentle "interrogation" from Lorraine and John about his experiences there. Some other VM's online are here.

Gospel Reflection

This weeks gospel of many parts talks to us about how the apostles pray for Jesus to increase their faith and the role of Christians to be willing to do what has to be done and not expect major kudos for it. It raises the questions do we try to manipulate our relationship with God seeking so that He "owes" us a favour? In the modern world we are all very aware of our rights, but do we place as much emphasis on our responsibilities? Do we have a proper attitude as servants of God where our relationship with Jesus is leading to greater trust in God as a response to the love of God.

Some more thoughts about this weeks gospel can be found here, here, here, here and here.

Saints of the Week

We just got a chance to run through our saints of the week this week to let you know whose liturgical commemoration is coming up:

3rd Oct - Blessed Columba Marmion OSB - obviously given that the 3rd falls on a Sunday this year, the memorial wont be observed, but Blessed Columba is one of Ireland's official Blessed's!
4th October - St Francis of Assisi and here
5th October - St Faustina (Apostle of the Divine Mercy)
6th October - St Bruno (Founder of the Carthusians)
7th October - Our Lady of the Rosary

Other News

We have been talking and talking about the podcasts since the blog started back at the beginning of September and we hope to have the podcasts up and running in about 3-4 weeks. We had a little technical difficulties but we hope to get them sorted soon. When we do get up and running,  the plan is to have podcasts going back to the start of July of the show online for you to listen back to and to let all your friends know about us.

Again, thanks for listening!

God bless

John, Lorraine and Shane

Podcasts of the Show

We are busy working on getting our podcasts of the show online so that you can listen back to the show when you want and hopefully within the next few days that should be up and running.

In the meantime alot of people have asked us if the programme can be repeated especially for those of our listeners out there who may not be so "net" friendly. We are encouraging you to contact the station asking for repeats of the programme - we are after all a community radio station and have to respond to our community's needs! Contact information for the station is in the sidebar on the right!

Thanks again for listening!
